Since 2006, Virtlantis has been a place in Second Life where people meet to learn languages, explore ideas, and enjoy fun learning activities. It started as a language learning project and became a place where people can learn all sorts of new skills, share interests, and join friendly, informal learning events. All subjects and languages are welcome!

🌍 A Community Co-Created by You
There is no fixed schedule or strict plan. Activities are offered by people in the community on a volunteer basis. Join Virtlantis if you want to:

🗣️ Practice English or other languages.
🎨 Show your art or talk about creative work.
🎶 Listen to music or join DJ events.
🎭 Take part in games or role-plays.
✨ Join fun group meetings and special events.

Some examples of what you will find at Virtlantis:
Live Music & DJ Events – Concerts, open mic, and music sessions
Art & Creativity – Digital art, photos, and creative workshops
Casual Learning Meetups – Language exchanges and small learning groups
Interactive Activities – Role-plays, storytelling, and games
Special Events – Themed meetups and virtual trips
 
🤝 No Pressure – Just Join and Enjoy
You can just participate in our learrning activities and/or special events and enjoy learning and meeting others. You don’t have to get more involved unless you want to.

If you choose to get more involved, you can help with different projects and simultaneously practice conversation and socialize with others. This is a nice way to practice your English (or other languages), work with others, and help the community.

Here are some examples:
🛠️ Create holodeck scenes for learning or fun.
💡 Help make personalized AI learning content and 'mini-courses'.
🎤 Support live events or create small courses.
🧭 Help build interactive experiences (like tours or games in Second Life).
🧱 Work on sim design, scripting, or learning tools.
💬 Help with the Discord server or social media posts.
👥 Lead language practice groups.
These projects are easy to join, flexible, and a good way to learn by doing. And if you are new to virtual world stuff, no worries, we can help speed up the learning process, and the basics are relatively easy. 

 💬 More Than Just Second Life
Virtlantis is also on Discord and the Skool platform, where you can stay in touch, join chats, and learn from short online courses at your own speed.

 📅 Coming in May 2025: A New Start
Virtlantis will be relaunched in May 2025 with new ways to connect, learn, and create together. It will stay free, open to everyone, and run by the community.
